I'm Rae, and this is a picture of me in a wetsuit, about to do something I absolutely love (surfing).

I'm not very good at it, but hey...
That's not what life's all about.

I took this picture on my honeymoon in Tofino, BC - about 2 weeks after our surprise scavenger-hunt-style wedding aboard a Vancouver water taxi, 1 month before finding out I was pregnant, 2 months before a global pandemic began, and 14 months before moving back across the ocean to Europe with my husband and baby.

That's a lot of change - BIG change - in a really short period of time.

So, now...here I am.

I'm living abroad (for the 3rd time) with my German partner and soon-to-be one-year-old, navigating motherhood, 2nd language learning, and a strong desire to document and share my experiences, create a community, and connect with others who are also currently surfing life's waves - whether they be choppy, flat, or perfect barrel.
