That we didn’t know were our last times…

Cheers to that last ‘single’ kiss.

Cheers to that nail-biter of a championship game in high school.

Cheers to the last time you ever did a cartwheel…

(When you only cared about being silly,

And not at all about LOOKING silly.)

Cheers to that final keg party in college.

Cheers to the last video you ever rented at Blockbuster.

Cheers to your last time trick-or-treating.

(And cheers to all your teeth that ‘didn’t fall out after all’,

Despite all of the candy you devoured…!)

Cheers to the last ride In your very first car…

Cheers to your last slow dance with a crush.

Cheers to the last time your toddler crawled up and snuggled on your lap,

Before deciding ‘they were too big’ to do it anymore.

Cheers to your last sleepover at your best friend’s house.

Cheers to the last concert you attended before your favourite band broke up.

Cheers to the last great day you spent with a loved one,

Who had to leave you far too early.

We often don’t know something will be our ‘last’, until well after the fact.

And by that point,

It can be too late to truly appreciate it to the fullest.

So enjoy being playful.

Cherish every kiss & every snuggle.

Savour every last drop of this adventure called life.
